Let me explain with examples what High Poppy Syndrome is.

I explain with examples what is the High Poppy Syndrome: between fanciful hypothesis and social pathology

What is “Tall Poppy Syndrome“? It is a particular form of envy that consists in the difficulty of being able to genuinely appreciate the successes of others without feeling annoyed. That annoyance that then evolves, each at his own pace, into strategies to demolish the opponent. An opponent who may also be a “friend”!

In fact, it is well known that we prune the flowers that grow more than their neighbors, so as not to disfigure the lower ones. Hence the name of the “tall poppy”.

The syndrome expresses the aversion generated by individuals who manage to stand out in a particular field. This feeling is not really a form of envy, it is more of an emotional reaction to the success of others that inevitably highlights their limitations.

Criticize, discredit, slander. These are the routine weapons of those affected by this bad habit! [Find out more in the dedicated article].

From 2017 to today, we have worked to create an event that has achieved the goal of bringing together a group of entrepreneurs and businessmen united by being all owners of a Lamborghini car.

A community that, by living its passion for the Tori di Sant’Agata on a daily basis, has managed to strengthen the image of the territories it has crossed, the human relationships it has created, the companies and people it has involved. A true luxury experience with a high emotional impact capable of making everyone happy: owners, enthusiasts, children and the simply curious.

It’s as if…

upon reaching this milestone, some subjects more or less directly linked to the Mother Company had decided to wage war on me!

As the event you create reaches the international stage, it expands its community and successfully establishes itself worldwide. It becomes a true lifestyle phenomenon capable of attracting top brands and influential figures.

It’s as if…

at that very moment, an internal group joined forces to sow the famous “discord”, clumsily attempting to replicate the format.

It’s as if

those individuals who had initially collaborated to give birth to the first Bull Days, began phoning everyone to say they were no longer going to Bull Days, feeling dispossessed.

It’s as if…

of the friends I’ve already written an article about, actually stood by me with the intent of helping to cut the poppy.

Of course, these are just examples to better explain the Tall Poppy Syndrome through the activities that everyone knows me for. The impressive thing is that in certain environments these things really happen. Very often those who are victims, out of fear, do not even talk about it.

It then becomes an attitude that tends to oppress the individual. A premeditated conduct put in place in order to cancel what has become the enemy. Those who have the misfortune to come into contact with those who adopt such behavior, inevitably become victims.

An anti-meritocratic mechanism is thus triggered, harmful not only to the health of the individual but also to that of businesses.

But fortunately large companies like Lamborghini have a Code of Ethics and managers who are very attentive to the fundamentals of this important moral instrument, thus preventing such actions from taking hold.

Unfortunately, these devious dynamics constitute, elsewhere, a real social model based on envy. An attitude of provincialism that inhabits small minds.

My thanks go to all the people I have mentioned directly and not. To all those I have met in this wonderful journey towards the fifth anniversary.

To host the luxury experience dedicated to the luxury brands, the prestigious Hotel Excelsior. A structure of great charm and Moorish architectural charm. Here contemporary luxuries sit harmoniously alongside the well-preserved splendor, with an awareness of its historical-artistic and touristic-social value.

The Venice Film Festival was based here during the first edition in 1932, which together with the opening of the summer venue of the Venice Casino, expanded the audience of the beautiful world orbiting in its halls already at the beginning of ‘900. The first edition of the festival was staged on the Tropicana terrace of the Excelsior.

A kermis entered in the chapters of the history of cinema, to which participated numerous Hollywood stars including Greta Garbo, Boris Karloff and Clark Gable.

Since then, movie stars, intellectuals, royalty, politicians and influential figures have stayed in the now famous resort on the Venetian Lido. Among them: Winston Churchill, the Duke of Windsor, Johnny Depp, George Clooney, Sandra Bullock, Ingrid Bergman, Gina Lollobrigida, Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, Claudia Cardinale…

A hotel that is also a film set. In the spectacular Sala Stucchi you can still breathe in the magical atmosphere of Sergio Leone and the music of Ennio Morricone. In fact, scenes from the cult movie “Once Upon a Time in America” with Robert de Niro were filmed here.

Brand Art: the international artist Teddy Delaroque arrives in Motta di Livenza

Monte-Carlo, Florence and Motta di Livenza. The third stage of Armchair BULLDAYS is in the town in province of Treviso.

From Forte Belvedere in Florence to the operative headquarters of Venetia Communication in Motta di Livenza, to the various points of reference of the town of Livenza. This is the route taken by artist friend Teddy Delaroque to install one of his famous fauteuil (armchair), the Armchair “BULLDAYS”, on display on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Forte Belvedere in Florence, during the gala dinner of Bull Days Tuscany Reloaded. The artwork, as well as the first produced, made for the Bull Days, was presented together last year at Montecarlo Bay.

The artwork is a design armchair with 360° rotation, with the car’s ball bearing system, colored with the “green mantis” of my Huracán Perfomante. A unique and exclusive object that bears the iconic signature of the Bull Days Montecarlo brand.

A work capable of summarizing the sinuous lines and the aggressive character of a super sports car. An author’s piece that cradles and encloses, as in an exclusive microcosm, the soul of the MotorSport universe. An object of design born to be static, but that boldly refuses its destiny. It demands more, it yearns for the thirst of speed.

Synergy with Teddy Delaroque

Teddy Delaroque is an internationally acclaimed French artist, designer, painter and sculptor. I met him thanks to my friend Fabio Lamborghini in 2018 and since then we have formed a solid bond.

We installed his sculptures in the food court of the Bocelli family during Bull Days 2019. In summer 2020 at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, we presented the “BULLDAYS” armchair during the Bull Days Monte-Carlo Gala Dinner. The same work, which on July 3 was exhibited at the prestigious Forte di Belvedere in Florence, in the emblematic evening of Bull Days Tuscany Reloaded.

These relationships and synergies with important artists make Bull Days the luxury-oriented event of reference that is gradually being confirmed. An innovative format able to bring together the different souls of the luxury sector in an informal context.

Art as a branding tool

The armchair “BULLDAYS” is the perfect example of partnership between luxury brand and contemporary artist. In fact, this is an increasingly current trend. Artists, recognized designers now realize their vision through brands in various sectors, from Haute Couture to the Automotive world.

A practice already in vogue in 1937, when the designer Elsa Schiaparelli collaborated with Salvador Dalì. In recent years, brand-art has recorded a great exploit. Just think that only in the two-year period 2016-2018, Louis Vuitton collaborated with Jeff Koons, Stella McCartney with Ed Ruscha, Dior with Seven Young Artist, Calvin Klein with Andy Warhol’s foundation and Coach with Keith Haring.

Art is no longer something to be admired and contemplated at arm’s length. Instead, it has turned into a branding strategy that allows you to stand out and elevate your product to collectible status. Every form of consumerism is transcended. The focus shifts to values, ideas and concepts. The real lifeblood, capable of triggering an escalation of authentic emotions, the starting point for the wonder of being in the world.

TENUTA FONTI: THE OASIS IN CHIANTI WHERE POETRY LIVES

The Tenuta del Gruppo Fonti Toscana Country Resort is an enchanting place set between Florence, Siena and San Gimignano: the perfect setting for luxury-oriented forms of tourism.

Fonti Toscana Country Resort is an enchanting rural oasis set in the heart of the Tuscan countryside between Florence, Siena and San Gimignano: an area rich in history, art and tradition. Located in the wonderful Chianti area, the Estate is immersed in timeless landscapes, full of beauty and harmony. Unique landscapes designed with love and wisdom by vineyards, olive groves, rows of cypresses, lush forests, pastures, truffle grounds, orchards and farms.

A corner of the world where the infinite voice of poetry echoes

The Fonti Group, which also includes the ancient Tenuta di Sticciano, wishes to translate the magic of Tuscany into real dream experiences. The fulcrum of these emotions is the delightful resort in the municipality of Certaldo, the ideal place for those in search of the Italian sense of beauty: culture, relaxation, food and wine, fashion, sunshine.

The estate is the union of various medieval farms, which in turn were built on ancient Etruscan-Roman settlements. The structure we see today dates back to the beginning of the 15th century. The manor house was restored in 1700 by the historical Medici Tornaquinci family, undisputed symbol of the Florentine Renaissance.

As I write to you from this marvelous place, like an idyllic mirage, I glimpse remote eras lost in the passage of time among the silky hills and the sounds of nature. Living on the estate means finding time for yourself and for the important people in your life. Being lulled by the music of nature, getting lost in the sunsets. Taste a unique territory, through its food and wine products and discover it in all its facets.

Living the Dolce Vita in the Fonti Resort

The privileged geographical position of Tenuta Fonti is the perfect starting point to visit the main Tuscan cities of art such as: Florence, Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano, Volterra… and for interesting excursions in the Chianti region.

Visit Florence is a must! The Tuscan capital is the cradle of the Renaissance and the Italian language. Unique city in the world that has maintained unaltered the charm and splendor of the past. A true open-air museum that houses works of inestimable value.

Giuseppe Cau, the meeting with the Vespa rider

I had the privilege of meeting Giuseppe Cau, symbol of the Vespa icon of Italian design in the world.

Last week the Vespa turned 75 years old! In the same days the made in Italy icon has also exceeded 19 million units produced since ’46. Two important milestones that confirm what the brand from Pontedera represents in the collective imagination: a symbol of freedom and Italian design. I have had the opportunity to discover and experience the most authentic values of the Vespa from very close up. That’s why I want to tell you about my meeting with Giuseppe Cau, champion and symbol of the most famous scooter in the world.

Who is Giuseppe Cau

One man in particular has had the merit of being able to represent the soul of the Vespa to perfection. This man is Giuseppe Cau, born in 1928, Roman by birth but Pontedera by adoption.

“Giuseppe, your ideal vehicle is the Piaggio Vespa. As small as you are, who’s going to stop you on that one?”. These were the words of Luciano Moroni when the then 18-year-old Giuseppe was working in his mechanical workshop.

As soon as a Vespa arrived to be repaired, the boy didn’t wait long to ask permission to pilot it for the race at Lido di Ostia. Driving a simple touring Vespa, he managed to place second in front of real pilots on racing models.

From that first competition onwards nothing will be the same as before. From 47′ on board the iconic Vespa he brought home one victory after another. Nobody could stop him. That’s how he got noticed by Enrico Piaggio in person, who in 1948 brought him to Pontedera to entrust him with the development of the Vespa.

Symbol of the Piaggio Racing Department, gold medal at the Six Days of 1951 and true icon of the most famous scooter ever. Pilot, mechanic, tester and precious advisor for new ideas.

He was also the protagonist of the first Vespa acrobatic team and always came up with new improvements, such as the anti-fog visor.

My meeting with Cau

Giuseppe Cau, in addition to perfectly embodying the spirit of the Pontedera brand, is also a beautiful person. I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Cau at the Piaggio Museum during the 2019 Tuscan edition of Bull Days.

A special moment to share not only the passion for speed and to learn the stories of the legendary Vespa “jockey”, but also to forge a genuine friendship. On that occasion I discovered together with him and his epic tales a collection unique in the world.

The Museum was founded in 2000 in the premises of the former workshop to enhance the historical heritage of one of the oldest Italian companies. Today the Piaggio Museum is the largest Italian museum dedicated to two wheels and periodically organizes temporary exhibitions in the field of modern and contemporary art.

But in addition to the museum visit, the Vespa champion invited me to his home to admire the many memorabilia collected throughout his life. Every award, every painting and historical photo, every object told of his successes and the 75 years of Vespa’s glorious history.

He explained to me the tricks he had up his sleeve on the track, but also when he was young and frail as he was when he started working for Piaggio. His first successes, the victories at the Salita della Merluzza, the Sassi Superga, the Coppa di Perugia, the Six Days of International Motorcycling and all the other great victories.

At the end he also wanted to show me and let me ride some of the legendary Vespas of his private collection full of special series and unique museum pieces. Among these stands out the “Super Cau” a commemorative model and limited edition of 99 copies completely designed and built by Cavalier Cau.

This two-wheeler in fact wants to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the birth of the Vespa and at the same time one of its most important “interpreters”. Not at home appears on the shield the 94, which was the racing number of Giuseppe Cau. I thank him again for having hosted me and for having shared with me his story and his passion.

The most loved scooter in the world

This meeting, with all the exciting events connected, is certainly emblematic of how Vespa is a historic yet always contemporary brand. When a product or an object of design goes beyond its simple function, it becomes a legend.

It is no longer something material, it becomes a symbol of dreams and ideals. This is the case of Vespa, not just a simple scooter, but a true worldwide cultural phenomenon.

Protagonist of the post-war boom, it soon became an emblem of freedom and emancipation for young people all over the world. The joy of living, light-heartedness and the desire to look to the future without fear are the intrinsic values of the iconic two-wheeler.

A unique scooter capable of inspiring creative people all over the world with its lively spirit and genuine simplicity. Proof of this are the numerous partnerships with prestigious brands such as Dior, (RED) and Sean Wotherspoon.

So much so that the Pontedera-based brand doesn’t feel the 75 candles recently blown out at all. Marketed in 83 countries on all continents, long a protagonist in mass culture, the Vespa is a timeless style icon.

Hotel Santa Maria Novella, a jewel in the city of the Renaissance

The hotel in the heart of Florence will be the ideal place to plan luxury-oriented appointments.

I had the pleasure of being invited to the reopening of the Hotel Santa Maria Novella, a 4-star full of charm and classicism located in one of the most iconic squares in the world. The reopening of the luxurious Florentine hotel was a significant moment for the whole city of Florence. An auspicious sign, hoping for a better future for the entire tourism and hospitality sector.

The Florentine style of a charming hotel

A unique hotel in an ancient palace full of history and art, in front of the splendid Basilica, whose facade was made immortal by Leon Battista Alberti. A world-famous architectural work and a symbol of the Renaissance age, a portrait of the ideal proportions of the human body and the fusion of philosophy, mathematics and nature.

I had the distinct feeling that the imposing and at the same time slight presence of the Basilica echoed and reflected suggestions and inspirations on the building. A unique atmosphere capable of elevating a stay to a truly significant and evolutionary moment.

An unparalleled place a few steps from the Florence Cathedral, Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi and all the most famous attractions of the city. Hotel Santa Maria Novella is the harmonious result of a balanced mix of classic style, refined details and a breathtaking panoramic view of the square and the Florentine hills.

Lacquered wood paneling, French furniture, historic antiques and precious marbles make the Santa Maria Novella a luxurious hotel, emblem of the Florentine style and the art of Tuscan hospitality. The magical Hall of Mirrors transformed into the breakfast area, the impeccable service, the fitness center, the sauna, the Valet Parking complete a luxurious experience that is hard to forget.

Hotel Santa Maria Novella: the Honeymoon Suite

In the days of stay the Suite proved to be the ideal place for meetings and reunions with one of the most beautiful backgrounds in the world. It was in fact the first strategic base where I received all the actors involved in organizing the Bull Days Tuscany Reloaded. With Giulio Fratini and with the other protagonists of the next edition of the Luxury Experience I had the pleasure of working in a stimulating context of unparalleled beauty.

A great shared strategy with a strong impact on the Tuscan capital

After this pleasant stay, I am sure that the Hotel Santa Maria Novella has all the characteristics to be a point of reference for projects oriented towards the luxury world. I thank the Fratini family for their welcome, with whom I have the pleasure of working closely to create the Bull Days Tuscany Reloaded.

Redesigning the routes of the new luxury-oriented tourism and organizing international events is the mission of Venetia Communication in the city of the Renaissance.

Develop new strategies and luxury experiences between luxury brands and magical locations. This is the fundamental constant for designing innovative projects and synergies that aim to outline a new concept of luxury and well-being.
